On the laws of war: issues of military theory and methodology

The words "peace and security" as salient features of the modern era reflect nowadays generations’ desire to exclude the threat of war from their lives, but the practice of our everyday life suggests the opposite: wars and armed conflicts are reluctant to vanish. War is a paradoxical phenomenon (M.F. Dostoyevsky), similar to a chameleon war changes its forms and manifestations in new historical conditions (K. Clausewitz). A new book by the Doctor of Philosophy, Professor, Honored Scientist of the RSFSR, USSR State Prize laureate Major-General Stepan A. Tyushkevich is an expression of many years of creative search, striving to get through the paradox and "chameleon" of war, the desire to see its laws in practice.
